The 10 NFL Draft prospects most likely to become Patriots

Most times, Bill Belichick is unpredictable.

Come draft weekend, the methods to his madness are slightly more obvious.

The Patriots prize wideouts and cornerbacks with elite times in the 3-cone drill. They favor Senior Bowl standouts and former captains. And they prioritize offensive linemen and defensive backs with the smarts to pick up their playbooks.

With those patterns, among others, in mind, here are 10 prospects more likely than most to become Patriots this week.

Day 1

DB Daxton Hill, Michigan

Ht/Wt: 6-0, 191

Projected round: 1st-2nd

Scouting report: Hill is a versatile, high-floor prospect with excellent speed and high football IQ. Because of those traits, it’s become easy to see how he could follow Devin McCourty’s career path in New England; starting as a cornerback before eventually replacing McCourty as a deep safety.
